Longing for an experience that will remind you of those glorious summers you spent on the Mediterranean as a child? Okay, maybe you didn't live there, but you'll soon feel like a true Sardinian in this very authentic Italian eatery that serves homemade rolls and thick, wide-noodle linguine. You may see a celeb or two hiding out incognito in the corner since this is a favorite hangout among the Main Street trend-setters. The small size and dark lighting also add to its very intimate and romantic feel, but the true draw is the... read more

Romantic setting, Excellent Italian Food... – Via Veneto is one of LA's best in regard to how a restaurant should run. Perfectly prepared food, not pretentious or too gourmet. The ravioli is delicate yet firm, perfectly done. I don't mind spending more money for a good meal. They're hard to come by and totally appreciated by diners like myself.
Excellent food -- be prepared to spend $$$ – My family and met a friend from LA here for dinner, due to the rave reviews. I left a voice mail for a reservation, expecting to have to call back, and they called back, left me a message, and had our table ready when we arrived. The food was excellent, and the service very attentive. However, be prepared to spend some money. No wine on the list is under $45.00, and I think if you don't think that there are good wines for half that (at a restaurant), your pretensions are getting t... read more
A wonderful experience – I had dinner at Via Veneto recently, after one of my dearest fiend racomandet it, what an incredible experience. I dined at the very best restaurants all over the world. Via Veneto was one of the best meal and experience I have ever had. My new favorite restaurant in Los Angeles.
Absolutely THE BEST !!! – The food is amazing and the Wine list unbeatable. If you are a fine diner and a food connaisseur this is definetly the place for you. The service was unpeccable. BRAVISSIMO !!!!
Excellent Food, but.... – The fettuccine bolognese is delicious - one of the best I've had in Los Angeles. (We are on a search for the best Italian restaurant in the city.) In general, Via Veneto is very good, but when they ask you what kind of water you would like ("flat or bubbly"), and if you don't want to spend $5.50 per bottle, just say "I'll have regular water. Otherwise, if you say flat, and your dinner date says bubbly, they'll bring two different bottles to the table, and charge you $5.50 per bottle. RIDICULOUS!!!!!... read more
Fantastic Food, Bad Value – The setting is very romantic, but extremely crowded. The service was fairly attentive, but not welcoming. We had the following: heirloom tomato & buffalo mozzarella salad, artichoke salad, gnocchi arrabiata, fetucini bolognese, panna cotta, and tiramisu. I would rate all of the food a 9-10 with the exception of the tiramisu. It was probably very authentic, but it was not as tasty as everything else. The arrabiata sauce was about the best I've ever had! Stay away from the Gorgonzola sauce - it tast... read more
Watch out for the owner – Food is ok, if you like bland without any presentation. The wine menu is extensive, expensive, and not worth the price. The appetizers are the same price as an entree. The specials list is as long as the menu. When asked what we thought at the end of the meal, we told the truth then we were told to leave.
Amazing Italian Place !!!!!! – This place has some of the best authentic Italian food I've ever eaten, especially in Santa Monica. Don't miss the langostini and portobello mushroom salad --they're amazing. Wonderfull wine list selection. Amazing people-watching too--we've seen Spielberg, Eddie Van Allen, Freddie Prince Jr and his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, Harrison Ford and so many others. It's worth the drive.
Human touch in Waiter – I am a usual customer, love the food, love the canldes blah blah blah..... I went to the restaurant the other day and I was in no mood for fun. What was added on my latest "meal" was the human touch so often missing in restaurant/customer relationship. Roberto - that's the name of my waiter - handled my situation like the friend that I know I have there. Way to go, Roberto. alexandro
