When I was invited to a "Mad Men" party I was so excited I could finally have an up do. I love beehives, french twists the bigger the better!! The very first person I thought of was Venus Hair. The owner is a very well known art car artist, and her salon on 19th street in the Houston Heights is a treasure trove of folklore of the city and the state of Texas! Venus Hair, great cuts, great color! Not only are they customer oriented, just getting your hair done there makes you feel like a part of the Heights neighborhood. Where else can you get your hair cut and watch people take their pic with Elvis. A must experience for many reasons!
I have been going to Venus since I was a baby when my grandmother would take me. She has personally cut my hair my entire life and will continue for the foreseeable future . I would recommend her to any one and the entire staff here is friendly as can be. I also recommend getting your hair shampooed and washed as its extremely therapeutic! Thanks Venus
I highly recommend going to Venus Hair for your next trim or complete makeover! Both Becky and Venus are great. I've never felt more comfortable in a salon before. I swear we were laughing the entire time. Becky made me not only look fabulous but feel it as well!
I've been getting my cut here by Becky for about two years now, and I can't even describe what a great experience it is. They're almost always fully booked, so there's not much hope of walking in -- you'd better call in advance for an appointment. They really know what they're doing, and Becky really listens and doesn't let you leave unless both you and her are happy with your hair (well, if you tell her you're happy with it, I'm sure she'll leave it the way you like it).
The people that work in here are pretty amazing, they all know what to do and they are very polite when it comes to their customers, great place to have a day off.
Great place. Katie did a fantastic job on my highlights. Will definitely go back.

Becky cut my hair and it was such a good cut that it grew out perfectly for a little over two months. That's a long time to not need to go back for a trim while you're growing your hair out. VENUS HAIR is the best!
After tiring of pricey spas and egotistical 'hair designers' I discovered Venus Hair in the Heights. I've been going to Becky for at least 2 years now, she's always been honest (and tactful) and has not given me a bad haircut or style spite some of my demands. Today was especially well done - I walk in the door without saying where I've been and husband says 'oh, I like your hair.' Good job, Becky! Also discovered one other thing...it's a place with people you can trust. What can be better than that.
