I was visiting Aberdeen from Canada, and looking for a bike to hire I came across Velohub. George was extremely helpful, and I was setup with a high performance Scott Scale, equipped with Shimano hydraulic brakes and the 12 speed Deore drivetrain. He recommend some great routes, and I took him up on a highly recommended ride out to the Greyhope Bay Centre Cafe, where I was able to see plenty of dolphins from right out the window. My husband and I rented e-bikes for the day to get to know the area before we move here with our family. George was very friendly, knowledgeable and gave great advice. The bikes worked perfectly and the experience overall was fantastic. We will definitely be recommending this place to others.
The bike I got was KTM Macina Ultra 1964 comp 29 (XL). It looked fresh as new. From the first spins I could feel one with the road. For three days I managed to go by the coast from Aberdeen to Rosehearty (near Fraserburgh) and back, visiting all the castles I found on the map. While the bike felt slightly heavy at moments, that is what one needs in order to cover some offroad area. Riding in turf, gravel or sand was not an issue and was actually comfortable.
