I have a 7 month old kitty, Cleo, that I adopted from a rescue a couple of months ago. Cleo got out yesterday and became lethargic and cried in pain when I picked her up. I was worried, so I drove down from Paradise to this clinic at 11pm because she was in so much pain I thought she might be dying. Both the tech and the vet were very kind and understanding. They were gentle with my sweet kitty. I was so relieved to find out she wasn't sick, but had an injury of some kind. They gave her some pain meds and an antibiotic shot ... read more

The wait was short, The staff is caring and compassionate. They took excellent care of our Chihuahua. She had a piece of plastic stuck in her gum they remove it and sent use on our way free of charge!

Business response:

Toni, we're so glad to know that you and your wonderful Chihuahua were taken care of! We appreciate your nice words; thank you!

Staff has always been friendly however regardless of me bringing my cat in for a regular exam or the emergency room I've always waited almost 2 hours before a vet comes into the room! That is absolutely ridiculous and inappropriate, especially when you yourself have work or other obligations you need to go to ASAP. When you're told you're 1st to be seen and then hear a vet walk into a room from someone that showed up after you, you start to wonder if there's a lack of communication or if they just don't care.

Business response:

Jessica, we're grateful for your complimentary remarks about our team, and would like you to know that the extended wait time you experienced is not representative, nor the norm, of VCA. If you're willing, we'd appreciate the opportunity to follow up with you about this if you can please contact our hospital manager, Megan.Rees@vca.com, with a note on your availability. Sincerely, Valley Oak Veterinary Center

Last Tuesday I had both of my dogs neutered here. Over the last two days my dog has developed a cyst on the the side of his penis. He also has been spotting Blood at the incision. When I called they told me to bring him right in right away only to sit here and wait now 3 hours. I am sitting here waiting as I am writing this review. I hope they don't charge me an arm and a leg for him being seen when they should have bandaged the incision on his stomach. Furthermore it was a crypt so probably should have I've been given some ... read more
