Got charged more than $4000 for a surgery and rehab rehab was never performed but they still charge me for it over $2000.00 rip off. Do not trust these guys they are crooks. They offer to reimburse $400 of $2000. When I complained they did not return my call for two weeks then I had to go in and confront them. Poor business practices charge people for services never rendered may look into small claims court, this just is not right! Do not let them talk you into paying ahead of time. VALLEY OAK VETS ARE UNETHICAL AND CROOKS.

I do not have the words to say how great full my family is. Today we had the most difficult day and had to put our 5 year old lab down because she had mast cell tumors. Dr. Estep preformed the initial procedure/surgery to remove them a couple of months back and she along with the staff were great. Today they helped us through this difficult decision and supported us and our lab through the entire process. Our family is forever great full for the compassion and caring staff and doctors at Valley Oak.

Business response:

Dear Jennifer Cabral Hightower, thank you for your kind words. We continue to send our hugs and good thoughts to you and your family during this difficult time.

I rushed my poor pup in at 12 for a broken leg, for how busy they were spending 4 hours there was reasonable, but what was NOT reasonable was telling me my 4 month old puppy needed 4,000 dollar surgery or amputation then argue the bill IM paying uninforming me of extra charges thankfully I caught. Proceeding to get a second opinion at a vet we take our other dogs too, were told with bed rest and a cast and lost of love she will make a full recovery and have total mobility in her leg. It's sad when you care more about the mon... read more

Puppy died due to sufercation on their watch?! Who puts a baby in with a mom who's on pain meds from cesarean and does not watch them?!!!! Then to cover it up they claimed weak heart beat on discharge papers. Funny, first thing they said was strong heart beat. Offered to induce labor. Who does that if puppy's heart is weak?! Said head was to big to birth. Saw dead pup and its head was no bigger than pups that came out normal. Charged me $2200 for a dead puppy!

Valley Oak took such good care of my dog, Layla, when she needed emergency surgery. They have become my veterinarian clinic of choice and she will be going there for all her future needs. The staff, nurses and doctors were all very kind and wonderful, and did everything they could to accommodate us. Layla is healthy and happy, and I literally owe it to them for saving her life. Thank you so much Valley Oak! You have definitely earned your wonderful reputation as the best animal care in Chico!

Business response:

Thank you, Rachael Amberhawk! Your kind words mean the world to us and we feel truly blessed to be here for Layla and the other pets in the community.

We have been using this clinic since it merged with Acacia which we used for almost 18years. I like the staff, because they are always friendly and of the utmost patient with our family members, regardless of their needs or anxieties they have while being treated. As an 18 year customer, I highly recommend them for your pets needs. By the way, check out the facebook I set up for our dogs called, Daisy & Jasmine for pics and videos I post of them as they

I took my dog there the other night. They wanted to charge me about $900 to remove one of my dogs top canine teeth when it didn't need to be removed at all. Her regular vet said all it was, was a broken bone above her tooth. He popped it back into place and wired it to her other canine tooth so it will heal. Only cost us $375 to do it RIGHT. Also, while we were here, they gave my dog a morphine shot when all it did was make her worse. Also prescribed her gabapentin for "pain" when its a human pill for neurological disorders.... read more

Business response:

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed but we want people to understand that as an AAHA Accredited hospital we ascribe to the highest standards of veterinary care. If options are available that we predict will provide a positive medical outcome then those are presented along with the recommended course of treatment. Canine teeth that are “luxated", meaning dislocated, do not necessarily have to be removed but these teeth may not heal. They can be repositioned and splinted but the tooth may require a root canal at a ... read more
