I am currently at VCA for my dogs 4pm appointment.... it's now 6:36 pm and I'm still waiting for my dog. His appointment was for an exam of his skin which he has come here for a few times before, no acute issue, and a nail trim. There is no reason I should be waiting 2.5 hours. My dog is medium sized and well behaved. This is the second time I've had an extremely long wait. It was 45 minutes of waiting before the appoint began. I understand they have a hospital but if you can't operate both the hospital and the regular clini... read more

Business response:

Kayona, we apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced. We can promise you that the long wait time you refer to is not something we want and that it is an unfortunate consequence of the "new normal" caused by Covid-19. Our commitment to pet care remains unchanged as we strive to lend our services while following all appropriate safety protocols. We're also working on addressing such concerns and would greatly appreciate your patience at this time. If you'd like to further discuss this with us, please email our hospita... read more

I will avoid taking my dog here again. I would not recommend if you have a fearful or anxious dog. They confuse anxiety and fear as aggression. We take our dog to the VCA in Kent and always have a wonderful experience. All it takes is patience and going at our dogs pace which the VCA in Kent always does. We’ve only had problems at this specific location, and unfortunately our trip here has made our dog much more fearful of the vet. Rex was phenomenal and the only one willing to work with our dog, and it was quick and easy as... read more

Business response:

Blake, we'd like to first say that we very much appreciate your kind feedback about Rex and look forward to letting him know of your compliments. Notwithstanding that, we sincerely apologize for the long wait and if you felt like we didn't have your dog's best interests in mind. Our goal, especially since this pandemic has started, has been to prioritize safety as much as we can. We're also committed to providing personalized care for each and every one of our patients. If you'd like to further discuss this with us, please e... read more

Been a client. many years, always great! Unfortunately, today, and yesterday I had very very bad experience. First, had to go elsewhere for my elderly cat in distress. Today, again in an attempt to be seen for my other cat ,much needed care, asap, again was denied, upon going they would not see us,even to wait . And,yet again I am in need of going elsewhere. Very very distressing. They had always been wonderful.

Business response:

Ingrid, we're very sorry to hear that you've found your recent experience with us to be any less positive than your previous experiences. We can assure you that we didn't mean any inconvenience and are working to the best of our ability to accommodate a high volume of patients despite having to navigate the restrictions caused by COVID-19. We urge your patience at this time and hope you can email our hospital manager at Laura.Cole@vca.com so we can further discuss your concerns. Sincerely, VCA Pacific Avenue Animal Hospital

I'm so thankful for this place. I've been calling vets today to see anyone does walk-in because of the virus most of the places are only go by appointment. I just want to take my baby in for check up. I thought he had a rash and hair loss at the same eye. I called Spanaway VCA and the operator told me to go here and they open 247 too. As a new client to this place I'm so impressed with their service. My 6 weeks old pup is healthy 😊. People are so polite. Now this is where my baby is going from now on. Thank you so much!

Business response:

We're delighted to know that we made such a great impression on you! We're also glad that you gave us the opportunity to look after your pup's needs and we look forward to seeing you again at the next scheduled visit. Thanks for sharing!

We took our dog to VCA on July 3rd. She had been running after her ball and suddenly couldn’t bare any weight on her right leg. While they were busy, they took her in an hour after we arrived. We waited for a very long time before the vet called to tell us she wanted to do X-rays. Being the night before a holiday, the wait was longer but we are just grateful we could get her looked at. X-rays revealed no break! The vet took her time to discuss plans for at home care in depth as our dog has a sensitive tummy. We were sent hom... read more

Business response:

Brigitte, thank you for sharing your lovely feedback with us! It was our pleasure to attend to your dog's leg issues as well as discuss plans with you regarding your dog's home care. We're glad that she's doing better, which is great news! We'll also be sure to relay your tremendous shout-out to Mary. If you ever need anything else, please let us know. Sincerely, VCA Pacific Avenue Animal Hospital

Go to Summit Vet Referral Center instead if you have an emergency. It may be out of your way by 5 miles, but those extra 5 miles are WELL worth it! I've been there multiple times and have always had great service My experience with VCA on 7/2/2020 in the end, left a HUGE sore spot with me. I had my pet taken to VCA as my regular vet (Spanaway Vet) was overbooked and noone else could take him, and I wanted my neighbor who was taking him since I cant drive after my surgery to ... They were very easy to work with and treated LuvBug with care and was very helpful with his ear problems of what we thought was ear mites but after they took a sample, came back as a fungus from his ears having moisture build-up. He started feeling better almost immediately from what was given to us for him. Thank you. p.s. how can I get the cream prescribed without having to bring him in? He has the same symptoms.
