Horrible customer service! I spoke to an agent named Matt M****** about a mistake which Vanguard had taken money out of my account instead of a check which I had sent from another 401k company since I was transferring the funds to Vanguard. Instead of trying to discuss and listen to my concern, this agent did not want to try to help me when I tried to speak he would interrupt me or just talk over me. My wife's traditional IRA and Roth IRA Vanguard mutual funds have been converted to the brokerage accounts. Explanation was that Vanguard moves funds to a new platform. I don’t know about advantages of such innovation however for now I just get confused with the statement of 03/31/20. As a customer of Vanguard I want to see the statement with the same format as a mutual fund statement. I have had accounts with Vanguard for decades. I always thought of them as a great company with good customer support and great, low-cost products. After my more recent experience with their customer support, I have revised my opinion very much downwards. 0 Stars; This company is the worst do not invest your money with them. They will not assist you in time of need. They will keep leading you on and tell you more documentation is required. Note when completing the application on line there is no link or fax number provided to send any documentation to. They have no intentions of disbursing your funds to you. I have called 3 times to follow up on the status of my hardship request and each time they tell me they need other supporting documentation. What more do they need......I... read more

There is not way to leave a negative star review, so one will have to do. No urgency, no customer service, no help, no way to escalate a problem, no one will give you a direct line to their phone to follow-up. The only reason I have to deal with them is my father's IRA. They could care less and do not want to help. No amount of follow-up or pushing makes them do anything. Some of the worst people ever! These people are a joke! **** **** ! They are on a power trip from hell! They will not give me access to my own account. What the **** is wrong with these people? I have never had to deal with such crooks! They need to under investigation immediately!

I have talked to countless reps over the last 3 months requesting my entire 401K account history. My divorce is pending and their lack of sending out the requested documents could cost me $173,000. THEY DON't CARE! They promise statements which never arrive or send little 1 page graphs that mean NOTHING. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Warning - Don't invest with Vanguard Investments. I started a wire transfer July 1, 2019 to Chas. Schwab, but Vanguard prevented me from getting my cash out of several cash mutual funds. Investors are suppose to be shareholders. But ever since the founder died in Nov 2018, the new President has changed a lot. So after 10 years, I decided to move my investments to Chas Schwab on July 1, 2019 by electronic transfer. Unfortunately, negative stars aren’t an option. I closed my retirement account with them last month and the check hasn’t come. After several calls, I was told the only thing they could do was reissue a check or have me pay to overnight it. Fine, I need the cash, let’s overnight it - but I have to make a fedex account and they will charge me. They assured me over and over again I could make the elections on how it’s shipped so I am not charged hundreds for it. So within an hour I call back and get someone else new.
