You think the outside is bad? Try working there! I started working for van aken last year and can't even begin to tell you how horrible it was. If you think the outside is bad, try working in the back!!! There are NEEDLES left all over the place for one!!! I was appalled at that! It's such a safety hazard to the animals. We love you Dr. Johnsen Dr. Suzanne Johnsen at the Van Aken Pet Hospital is so kind hearted. My wife and I ran into financial difficulties but our pit bull got into a fight and was in extremely bad shape. She operated on him and patched him up. Whereas the bill should have been huge she worked out what we could afford. We highly recommend her and her staff because the animal welfare always comes first. very pleased I chose this hospital because I was fixing five dogs for a neighbor who could not afford to fix them himself. I read the other reviews and was expecting it to be dirty because of the one review. I found it to be very respectable. The people were very friendly. I was able to get the dogs taken care of in one day. The price was very low, which is GREAT for spay and neuter. I would recommend them for anyone who needed to get a dog or cat altered. Humanitarian veterinarian Dr. Johnsen is the best vet in the world! She cares for our animals when they are sick or injured and takes them home when they need extra care. We are so grateful that she listened to her calling to be a humanitarian veterinarian! On a scale from 1 to 10 she is a SOLID 11.
STAY AWAY FROM VAN AKEN PET HOSPITAL. I brought my 9 yr old cat to Van Aken/Dr. Johnson when she began losing weight rapidly and vomiting. Dr. Johnson spent about 2 minutes looking at her and said the problem was a cavity. She performed oral surgery 3 days later and sent her home covered in pee and diahrea. The same symptoms continued so i called the next morning and was told to wait 24 hours. the next day they were closed. Finally they would see her again four days after the surgery. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET! My 12 year old beagle/pitbull mix was diagnosed with cancer last year and over the last couple months has gone down hill, she lost over 20 lbs of muscle and is in pain from arthritis, she also seems to blank out and not even know we are there then snap if we try to pet her when she is in this state (other times when she is lucid she does not do this).
