OK service – I went to Vain for the second time recently. My hairstylist cancelled at the last minute (10 min. before my appt!). The staff made a great effort to fit me in, but during the process I was bounced around among three stylists, including a student, for color and a cut. The cut and color were OK. I appreciate the effort to accomodate me, but was disappointed that I didn't get a top-quality cut and color.
CURLY HAIR? Go see Carinn! – I can't stop looking at my hair. Why? Because it's amazing! I found Vain on citysearch and decided to give it a try. Best for weddings! – Just got my wedding pictures back & I have to share the love- Vain does AMAZING wedding hair AND makeup! (who knew?) One of my bridesmaids suggested it, we went in for a consultation & decided to go for it, and it worked out perfectly- one stop for the 5 of us, didn't cost an arm and a leg, and everyone looked really beautiful. I did NOT want to look cheesy or boring on my wedding day and they really delivered. I highly recommend it for all you brides-to-be out there!
Carinn Rocks! – My sister and I saw Carinn a few months ago and she gave each of us fabulous haircuts. My sister and I have very different styles - I am more conservative and my sister is more current - and she listened carefully to both of us and gave us each great haircuts based on what we said and our personal style. THANKS JANAE!! – I got my hair cut by Janae yesterday. I was a little nervous because she's an apprentice and does not have as much experience as the others, but it was only $15 and she was the only one available. Janae was very knowledgaeble, knew exactly what she was doing, and informed me of what she was doing each step. Its also reassuring when your hairstylist has really cute hair themselves!! DEFINITELY worth my $15.
Roxie is too good to be true – Roxie gave me the best haircut of my life! I've never gotten so many compliments on a cut. It's funky and versatile and even looks good fresh out of my bike helmet after a 25 mile ride! I can't recommend her highly enough.
Vain really is as great as everyone says. – I've been to a few different salons based on suggestions from CitySearch, including Gene Juarez and Mode. The haircuts weren't bad, but for the price and effort, definitely not worth the money. I had my hair done about three weeks ago at Vain by Carly. I had horrible roots and wanted some blonde in my hair, but not your typical run-of-the-mill highlights. Three words...Go see Roxie! – Sick of the semi-decent haircuts at ridiculous prices at Gene Juarez, I decided to give Vain a try. Mainly, I dug the vibe and thought the Web site made the salon seem personal on a lot of levels, especially the bios on each stylist. I went in with one thing in mind...to get out of my "hair rut." Roxie was great about providing me with creative, but maintenance-friendly ideas for my cut (long to short; cut about 12 inches). Roxie's unbeatable! Best cuts and coloring in town. – I'm from California, and I refuse to get my hair cut and styled until I can make it up to Seattle for an appointment at Vain with Roxie Hunt. No joke... I don't let anyone else touch my hair. I've never been disappointed by a cut. They're always creative, flattering, and completely original.
