I love this salon! – I never received a hair cut that I didn't like when I chose to go to Vain's. The shop itself is hip, clean and very well maintained. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about hair care. I always receive excellent service from the artists. They really take their time getting to know you, your hair type and what sort of cut and style you're looking for. As Vain As You Want To Be – After many recommendations I booked my appointment with Jordan. I walked in and immediately wanted to browse the many fun accessories and peruse the art. I like that each stylist here is able to be true to their own style isn't stuck wearing all black. As far as the haircut, I could tell Jordan was a perfectionist. I didn't feel like he was rushing to finish and he was very genuine in conversation. I walked out feeling like a million.

Confessions of a High-Maintenance Pixie – First things first, I'm a bit high maintenance when it comes to my hair. When you cut your hair super short, you welcome high maintenance as a permanent house guest. My favorite Vain stylist, Sam, chopped my locks off and now maintains them on a 3-week schedule. At any other Seattle salon, I'd be paying through the nose at this rate, but at Vain, I get a FREE (did you catch that - FREE) trim between haircuts! For a gal with short hair, this is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and go see KELLY!!! – I have never been treated with such understanding until I met Kelly. She really took the time to understand the haircut and color I wanted and also made it so much better than I could have imagined. I have never had a stylist do that..they usually always acted like the got me but never did..Kelly wasn't afraid to ask me questions before she just went ahead and she made me feel so comfortable.. I love this hair Salon and Great Haircut from Alexis – The staff lady was so nice when I called to make an appointment. I told her I've never been to Vain before and I'm asian with curly long hair. She immediately recommended me to several hair stylist that would do good on what I want. I decided to go with Alexis to have the hair cut. For sure she was amazing. Best Haircut in town... and nicest staff – We recently moved to Seattle and have been trying a number of different hair stylists around town. Both my fiance and I have settled on Vain and more specifically Sam. First of all, the space they use is really interesting. Sam was telling me last time that it was one of the original Nirvana gig spaces or something and the building obviously has a lot of history. Bad service – I went to Kelly to get my black hair colored lighter. Not only did she tell that she didn't know how to go lighter on black hair, but she also has an attitude. She kept leaving and attending to other clients in between while spending very little time on getting my hair done. Overall the service was pathetic and I'll not recommend VAin to anyone.

LOVE THIS PLACE – I went to Kelly for extensions and she was great. I had really short hair and she made it look perfect! The cut she gave me after works well. They have made a new client out of me for sure.

So So – I have been her twice and was never very impressed considering the staff's attitude. Just because they are in an art studio doesn't mean they are all that. I didn't go there for the art, I wanted to get my hair done. I thought it was pretty pathetic that they can't color your hair on the first visit. Who is really going to get their hair cut and then go back to get it colored. I don't know about you guys, but I hardly have time in my life for one hair appointment let along two.
