RecommendedThe parking is horrendous. A guy in a Mercedes grabbed our spot as we were waiting for the people to vacate. This was after driving around the parking structure for 30 minutes. I got out of our car and went to him and said “really? You are going to take our spot?” To which he replied “sorry” and proceeded into the facility. Wonder how many fist fights have happen in that garage I would avoid this place on Tuesday mornings at all costs

I have had the same primary care doctor at Durham VAMC for well over twenty years
The VA takes forever to actually schedule what you need. You have to leave a message. If you miss their call, you have to call back to leave another message. We’ve been trying to get an appointment with an outside vendor, which was ordered by the PCP. Veterans Choice department finally calls to schedule. When we tell them we’d like to be seen with an outside vendor closer to home, they said, oh that’s a different department. We’ll have to send the order there or you can schedule here for 4 weeks out. I have to start by saying the I have received great care every time I have been seen at the VA, however, getting to the point of being seen is nearly impossible. I have called twice this month to schedule an eye exam and never received a call back. At this moment, I have been on hold for OVER 25 MINUTES waiting for someone to pick up so that I can please, pretty please, schedule an eye exam. I genuinely want to believe that everyone there is doing the best that they can. There must be a better way than this to facilitate car... read more
