For all the complaints I hear about the VA system...I don't understand. I was treated well for my annual physical. The staff was personable, prompt, and provide the service I needed.
Greet and Treat Vets like they're a problem. Some of the staff are waaaay to comfortable in their job, so they get lazy. Staff needs training on how to say hello, good bye, thank you. Start the firing process and set people in place that want to be here.
I think that if you go in early afternoon, you get better parking and quicker service. I was in there for only an hour. Almost felt like it was in and out. Got two things done again in 1 hour
The hospital staff is way more efficient than any military hospital, or clinic that i've been to.
I gave it 3 stars because of all the good doctors helping circumvent those doctors who refused to treat me because I do not have an alcohol and drug problem. Kudos to the Pain Clinic, they are doing a 5 star job, also Primary Care, Emergency Room and Neurology. The Women's Clinic sucks and PTSD clinics. :)
The staff is overworked and underpaid. You would think people that have the responsibility of caring for our Veterans would have better working conditions. They are open 24 hours a day year round. It would be great if they were shown some appreciation and given some accolades. When people are shown appreciation they pass it on to others. Put yourself in their place and ask yourself if you could function under extremely stressful working conditions.
My experience at VA Medical Center was a nice one, had a few hiccups, like starting my surgery later than scheduled and having escort services take me to the wrong wing, but overall they did a fantastic job, my hat's off to the staff
