The Uptown Arts Bar is a premier venue and platform for performing arts. Located in the hip Uptown District of Midtown, it was originally built in 1925. Over the decades it has won accolades aplenty for being the best of its kind in Kansas City. Their eclectic schedule features live music, comedy, poetry, burlesque, dance, magic, and more, by emerging and established talent. It is also a partner venue for the Fringe Festival. It can hold 150 guests and features a bar and outdoor patio.

Hostess insisted I couldn’t say “woke” because I’m white. Went on to make every white person in the crowd feel hated, and guilty for something none of us had anything to do with. Hostess left the room for every white performer, even went as far as calling for applause for African Americans and Hispanics after white performers, not acknowledging artists at all. This is an environment of hate and racism, avoid at all costs.
one of the only bars i'll go to! great little community of artists all working together!
Nice place. Good range of spirits. Would like to go again to see the atmosphere.
