The Uptown Arts Bar is a premier venue and platform for performing arts. Located in the hip Uptown District of Midtown, it was originally built in 1925. Over the decades it has won accolades aplenty for being the best of its kind in Kansas City. Their eclectic schedule features live music, comedy, poetry, burlesque, dance, magic, and more, by emerging and established talent. It is also a partner venue for the Fringe Festival. It can hold 150 guests and features a bar and outdoor patio.

Shocking mistreatment of employees in the change of ownership. This place is a farce now. Don't be fooled into thinking it's the same place after they banished the community that made it. Arts Bar in name only.
Replacing a dance venue with jazz and firing all of its employees with no notice? Get in touch with reality. What’s next, replacing all of the parking spots with horse stables and only selling sarsaparilla? Lol good luck with that.

Terrible venue. They double book their crammed spot to make bank, and it screams of confused or disinterested management. Every show i have booked or attended there has been interrupted by obnoxious club music from the upstairs dance floor. Who puts a poetry and small act stage UNDER a dance club? Not to mention, patrons of the two clubs have to confusingly find their way through the cramped bar out front before fumbling with tacky, thin, velvet curtains that separate the sweaty bar from the stymied backroom. To the new owner and the old owner...Thanks for uprooting local Kansas City artists true home. we were accepted. we were healed by expressions of ourselves and others. now we have nowhere. thanks for canning all of the loyal staff without notice... who knew everyone by name. thanks for ruining a place where I have spent hundreds of heart earned cash at because I truly loved it. thanks for ruining the hip hop/poetry/alt art scene of Kansas city.
