My niece went to the ED because she had a seizure. Instead of admitting her she was told to go see a neurologist. Her blood sugar in the ED fell several points rapidly. That was not addressed. Was discharged on no meds. About 20 minutes after leaving the ED she felt funny and my sister took Her back where she then had a full blown grand mal seizure. She could have died. Very poor care.
My mother who has cancer came in because my 1 yr old grandson accidentally pulled out her feeding tube. She has been nothing by mouth for over a year. we waited 3 hours in the waiting area before we finally went to Forbes. They took a teenager with a sprained ankl6who came in long after her before even calling my mother back. I came in with a severe allergic reaction and bad joint pain. I asked for a steroid for inflammation and hives. They said no. wanted me to see rheumatology. Everyone know the waiting list is outrageous ... read more

Upmc is a fantastic hospital. The surgeons are the best and the nurses are kind and dedicated. I would recommend the hospital to everyone and I have. I wish we had one in Mahoning County. My surgeon, Dr. Kanter is the best back surgeon in our area.
