good value, short walk to downtown – I was skeptical about staying on the edge of town, but the walk to the waterfront and downtown attractions was very brief. The hotel itself was nice! Nothing fancy, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the person who checked me in gave me a warm cookie. The pool looked nice, but unfortunately I did not have time to get in. I would definitely stay at this place again.
Close to hospitals – Excellent place to stay for patients/visitors of OHSU or veterans hospital.
Better than we expected – Our King room is comfortable and good size. Nothing real fancy, but roomy. There's a small refrigerator and free Internet in the room. Carpets are a bit worn, but that's balanced by the great location next to Portland State University. And the restaurant, Encore 310, is wonderful, an overlooked gem. We rated our meal there tonight very highly at a relatively moderate price. The under $20 entrees would cost you $35 other places in town. Restaurant highly recommended. Hotel--Lots more than adequate.
PRETTY GOOD FOR THE PRICE
Everything was pleasant, and the neighborhood was quite and safe.
Great room for the money – The front desk staff was really nice as they let me check in early on rainy day. I wanted to use the hotels laundry mat and it wasn't working so the front desk staff map quest a laundry mat in town that was convient for me to go. My room was comfortable and they had free internet service as well which was great. I went to the hotels restaurant as well and the Crab cakes were great no compliants from me. University Place - Good for Portland Marathon – Great accommodation for the Portland Marathon. Provided runners' breakfast at 5 am and late checkout of 1pm for runners on the day of the race. It was nice to be able to come back after a race in the rain and take a shower before checking out. Also have a nice weight/work-out room. Less than 3/4 mile from the Marathon start. Front desk staff not always the most friendly and helpful but rates were as expected.
Comfy, quiet room at PSU and close to Max light rail – The room was comfortable, quiet and convenient to PSU and the light rail brought me to and from the train station and the Pearl District for free. Unfortunately the continental breakfast was worse than no breakfast at all. The staff were young and very helpful - I'd stay again but just make sure to go out for breakfast!
