Reston hospital grossly overcharged $13K for an overnight stay under 24 hours and some IV antibiotics. Without surgery for appendicitis, there is no way the bill should have been that high. It didn't include the scan which was billed separately. Our son was not seen by a doctor between 9PM and 4 a.m., only a nurse. I'm the one who told the nurse to give him antibiotics to try to avoid surgery as they do in Europe and as I researched was an option. They provided dismal care and completely secretive pricing.
