My "miracle son" is a young man who turns 21 this September thanks to Dr Bell and his excellent staff! I delivered him at 25 weeks and he weighed just 1lb 14oz. He was part of a transfusion study and received 12 during his 3 months in the hospital - they saved his life! Thank you for all you did...and continue to do! I'm so very blessed!
My son wouldnt be here today if you hadnt figured out why he kept getting sick and running those high fevers. Thanks for everything! He was up there recently for a surgery and is now doing great! You are awesome!
I just want to thank Ia. City Children's Hospital for the wonderful love and care you have given our great grandson, Cooper Wendling. He's been under your expert care in nicu since he was born five months ago tomorrow. It is our dearest prayer that he will be able to join his family home with his parents and twin brother before too much longer. So here's five stars to you! Pat Watson
Our son Lincoln was diagnosed at 20 weeks gestation with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. From that point on the Pediatric Cardiology department has been amazing and we consider them part of our family. He was born at UIHC and has received two open heart surgeries by the wonderful Dr. Turek. We have spent time in the PICU and on 2JCP where the doctors and nurses have been nothing but the best. Lincoln is always in the best care when at UIHC and we cannot thank the many teams that have cared for him enough!!
Thank you very much for everything you did for us! The staff that work there are angels in disguise!
Wonder place to have a baby!
My daughter Chayse was in for 9 days and had the best care. And the Child's Life group was amazing. They kept her so busy and active that she forgot just how sick she really was. Because of this she will be hiding a 5k fun run/ walk in Fairfield, Iowa on September 6, 2014. All funds go back to Child's Life. Check out the Facebook page Pay it forward be someone's superhero.
I'm proud to be part of the team constructing the new children's hospital. After reading all the posts of the outstanding work this hospital does it truly makes going to work everyday rewarding. We battle the elements every day so the doctors and patients will have the best facility possible.
Dr. Jose Morcuende in the Ponseti Clubfoot Clinic is amazing!!! He corrected my sons feet in 3 weeks after having 3 months of failed treatment elsewhere. I constantly refer other families to the U of I Clubfoot clinic where their child receives the best care. We drive 11 hours and it's worth it!!!!
