I was in a car accident and went here with neck and back pain. They didn't have brace that would fit my neck but put a bigger one on anyways. I get into a room and the nurse asks if I had been walking around. Then rips the brace off of me.. I can barley walk and I cant turn my head and there solution was go home and take tylonal. After dealing with two rude nurses and a doctor who refuses to give me any type of pain medication...if your in pain this isnt the place to go. My husband went to the er with chest pain and blood pressure was very high we were in the er for 6 hours seen by the dr. Twice and the nurse three times moved up to second floor was there hour the nurse on the second floor didnt waste anytime they had him icu were should of been all along thanks to those nurse
I am writing this review as a word of caution to ANYONE considering visiting the emergency department at U.H. Portage Medical Center. The billing department for the emergency physicians group is VERY VERY aggressive. Do not be surprised if you never receive a bill and learn that you have an account in collections. Their policy is 'paid in full in 90 days', but they DO NOT honor that. My son went to the emergency room December 9th. My insurance paid the claim December 30th. I went into ER twice in one week for kidney stone pains. They said all the tests came back showing nothing and sent me on my way with pain meds. So I went to my family Dr for a follow up and she said it clearly stated in my records that my urine sample showed there was blood in it which is usually a sign of kidney stones that go along with all the pain I was having.
