My visit to this hospital was by far the worst medical treatment I have ever received. I went to the physicality with an injured back. I drove myself in, and was able to walk myself in slowly. I was seen by a doctor, and had x rays taken. A nurse then came in with discharge papers, I had not had my injury or treatment plan explained, and was not offered any help getting dressed or walking out. Horrible experience and horrible care. Brooke became ill last night which resulted in an ambulance ride to Portage Medical Center. Her whole left side went numb with weakness after a pain in her back. Upon arrival they made me wait to go back, then we didn't see anyone for at least 45 minutes. The PA came in and did his assessment and says any family history of aneurysms and walks out......WHAT. 30 minutes later DR walks in and does his assessment. Orders head CT. This place is horrendous. Waited 2 hours to be seen when I came for a medical emergency. Waited in the waiting room writhing in pain while the staff just gossiped with each other. (Added fact: this is the emergency room staff. Not the general hospital/surgery staff).
Been coming here for thirty years No complaint yet.
Worst hospital experience ever. I went there with a severe infection on my face with severe pain that brought me to tears. They just give me antibiotics and send me in my way the last time I had and infection like this I was admitted. The pain alone is worth being admitted.
What a lousy excuse of a hospital!!!! We got to the ER waiting room, now, UH called and informed them that I was coming, there had to be 20 people in the waiting area when we arrived. And they said you still need to fill out the form. And at the same time a mother brought her child in for anaphylactic shock, you could clearly see the young girl's face and neck swelling up and they told them they need to wait too REALLY!!!! I have had a horrific experience with their billing department. I have contacted them over two dozen times to correct a simple billing error on their end - and a supervisor will not return my call and resolve the issue. Even when they say "it has been expedited and someone will call you," nobody with authority will call. From claiming they "had the wrong insurance number" when they in fact, electronically, had the correct one... to saying that they "tried to call my insurance" when the insurance company has no record of them... read more
This hospital is a slum hospital. Never have a baby there ever if u want a healthy one .my grandsonis at akron childrens with braindamage and will never get to play like most kids because of them. Mydaughter went in last sat to be induced and while induction the baby heart rte went down dominated of taking babyrightthen and there they rolling her back andforth instead of taking him th minute his hert wnt down. Now my grandson is brain ddead.if uare considerin going there to hav a bab think again
