So, what's with the name? We might be a little "ugly" in that we go against the grain, but we like to think we're making waves in the coffee industry through doing good. We're a locally owned, Memphis-based roaster, and we've been doing our thing for three generations. We ethically source our organic beans for a fair and eco-friendly trade. I actually love ugly mug coffee and buy it regularly from the grocery store. However, I recently purchased a bag that, when I opened it for the first time, had either an animal hair or a brush bristle in it (I couldn’t tell which) a piece of wood with paint on it and a tiny piece of paper all in the coffee. I wrote them a private message on fb with pictures and I was not responded to. So then I called the store. The reps you spoke with were not actually Ugly Mug employees, they are the reps who buy from Ugly Mug and supply grocery stores, so our team hasn't been involved directly yet. Just to clear a few things up: the "bristle" substance you found is from the bag which tore when it went through the bagger. The bags are fiber bags, which is why it appeared bristly.
