So, what's with the name? We might be a little "ugly" in that we go against the grain, but we like to think we're making waves in the coffee industry through doing good. We're a locally owned, Memphis-based roaster, and we've been doing our thing for three generations. We ethically source our organic beans for a fair and eco-friendly trade. I just walked out with two lattes. My first sip solidified a wonderful experience. The music was set at a great level with song selection on point for a relaxing atmosphere. However, most notably, the staff is what made my brief time there wonderful. Greeting me upon entering like they cared, making eye contact and taking my order as though I mattered as a customer, and going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed for my to-go order. I make it a point not to frequent places that use their company platform to promote any religion or political stance. I used to really eNjoy Ugly Mug when I lived in Memphis… and had is shipped to my house, now that I’m not in town. But… I’m done. You go on the list with places like Chik-Fil-A.
