My wife was my kidney donor on 6/17/16 at UAB Kidney Transplant Center. Our pre-transplant evaluations were easy and comfortable with the aid of wonderful staff. The day of surgery started early with our family and friends surrounding us in the pre-op holding area. Friendly, humorous staff kept us distracted from the task at hand while thoughtful prayers by our pastor and the hospital chaplain gave us reassurance.
