Pasadena True Value Hardware is a Wonderful Resource for Do It Yourselfers! Excellent place to get quality paint. The folks are very knowledgeable and friendly. I own several homes and usually shop their whenever I am working on a paint-related project.
JOSE IS THE MAN I saw a website for resurfacing my old concrete front porch and steps and noticed that this store was a dealer for DAICH COATINGS SPREADSTONE. I went in and was pleasantly surprised that a nice gentleman named Jose Orantes was very knowledgeable about the product and helped me with technical questions for preparation and application. At least you can find an employee I can't tell you how many times I go in a big box store (well, I tend to avoid them) and the employees run the other way--if indeed you see them at all. This store always has lots of people on the floor to help and there are always two registers open. They are friendly and helpful, though not all as knowledgeable as they might be, maybe because the owner wants to make sure all customers are greeted and helped. Terrible Customer Service In August 2005, I drove 45 miles (one way) to the store to purchase 4 gallons of Devine Paint, a great paint that I was going to use for my new family room. I had paint samples from Devine Paint, and after waiting in line for 30 minutes for the paint to be mixed, drove home with it. Guess what? True-Value had mixed me a blue-gray (a Devine Paint shade called Horizon) instead of the creamy white Devine Icing that I had ordered.
