Emergencies Only This small store is crammed with as much merchandise as it can fit, but it makes finding just the right item a doubtful long-shot. For big projects, I have to drive to the big warehouse hardware stores. I come here when I need an item or two around the house and am pressed for time.
GREAT T.V. STORE I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE ABOUT, I HAVE ALWAYS SEEN A FRIENDLY KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF, AND A GREAT OWNER WHO REALLY CARES! ONE OF THE BEST PAINT DEPT IN PASADENA !!!
Amazing Fastener Department Seems the fastener department was updated a year or so. Now they have just about everything needed, Even some hard to find items. About 5 isles of bolts and nuts. Service is always above average but they seem to have a lot of new employees that do not seem to know anything. In the 5 plus years I have been a customer I have never had a problem.
Terrible Customer Service In August 2005, I drove 45 miles (one way) to the store to purchase 4 gallons of Devine Paint, a great paint that I was going to use for my new family room. I had paint samples from Devine Paint, and after waiting in line for 30 minutes for the paint to be mixed, drove home with it. Guess what? True-Value had mixed me a blue-gray (a Devine Paint shade called Horizon) instead of the creamy white Devine Icing that I had ordered. At least you can find an employee I can't tell you how many times I go in a big box store (well, I tend to avoid them) and the employees run the other way--if indeed you see them at all. This store always has lots of people on the floor to help and there are always two registers open.
Happy Customer I've been shopping at this True Value for 7 years and always had great service. I've seen customers who were plainly idiots blame the staff for their own failures to measure, read directions and generally think intelligently about their projects. And no, I don't work for the store. I'm just a local resident who's relied on the staff at this store more than a few times and always gotten good service. I agree with J. Delgado I agree with J. Delgado this is a great store. The service is great and the store employees are always helpful. Ok sometimes the checkout clerks are in some other dimension but they are helpful, courteous, and more often than not will save you money. You get much better service here than at any other large store. The paint department is exceptional and I am a local but I can tell you if I had driven 45 miles to buy paint, like I have had to do at larger stores, I would make sure that a splotch of the ... read more
Small, very small This small hardware store can't compete with the big guys, Lowes and Home Depot. You may be able to get what you need in a pinch, but you may not. The selection is sparse.
