I had my car recovered to Transmatic to diagnose a problem with the hydraulic gear selector not working correctly. The car had a manufacturers replacement gear box 6 months prior. 3 Days later I received a call from Transmatic to tell me the bad news! The gearbox needs to be reconditioned at a cost of £3040.00. When I asked what investigations they had done to provide that diagnosis they refused to explain, insisting that the gear box needs to be reconditioned.
