They aren't super welcoming and are overpriced for what they serve.
The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly, attentive, super helpful when you’re confused about a menu item, and know how to have fun and laugh at themselves (which I always find to be a HUGE PRO in a world where people are way too serious all the time). I would absolutely recommend going to Tisane if you’re on the fence - you’ll probably want to kick yourself for not going sooner!
I wouldn't recommend attending an establishment that polices the private, non-vulgar conversation of its patrons.
Love this place. There’s really no other way to put it. I could tell you about how incredible the food is and how savory the drinks are...but let’s be honest. You go out for the atmosphere, not because they have a meatless burger or the best espresso martini (both of which they have). This place is open and accepting to everyone and everything. manager recently told my friend he needed to leave the restaurant for daring to discuss racism in public while he was there. apparently this place thinks it can require patrons ignore reality
Having lived in the neighborhood for years I’ve always felt welcomed and enjoyed the kind staff and excellent coffee and food that this West End staple has to offer.
