Surgery follow-up
Dr. Pater tested and dignosed cubital tunnel syndrome that affected control of my right hand and caused muscle atrophy. My condition was fairly severe with weakness, numbness, curling and loss of control of my 4th and 5th digits. Dr. Pater performed an ulnar nerve transposition to eliminate compression and inflamation. The surgery went well leaving a remarkably small scar around the elbow about 2.4 inches in length. Supremely knowledgeable, works very hard to be thorough and attentive for the patient.
I was worked into see dr Cooney the day I called for my condition. He was very through in reviewing my condition and informing me of possible prognosis. Condition return and again I was scheduled immediately and my re-evaluation and treatment w Has begun. The whole staff was very concerned, professional and caring.
Dr. Cooney reattached my torn bicep to my forearm in 2012 and I had a fast and complete recovery. Eight years later, I tore my other bicep and had him repair it as well. Again, the surgery was successful, and I was back to living my life in full after a normal recovery period. Both experiences exceeded my expectations as Dr. Cooney and staff held my best interests at heart. Dr. Pater listens with genuine concern about your issues. He answers everything in layman's terms and has a very good bedside manner. He performed carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands a couple of years ago, but far enough apart for me to function as well. He explained everything prior to my surgery and I am very happy with his work. I have gone back to him recently and unfortunately have to have additional hand surgery for a totally different issue. I was asked to make a decision if i wanted a cortizone shot and I was nervous so I asked how painfull are they and he staed it burns a little for about 6 seconds, then said he could prescribe me valium and have someone pick me up after the injection. Then said you need to make a decision because I have other patients. Extreamly poor bedside maners.
Dr Cooney he did a good job at letting me know about the damage to my knee and he explained the procedure that he is going to do not like my first experience with the other doctor
