The hand and upper extremity are unique areas that are made up of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves, skin, and blood vessels. Preservation and restoration of hand and arm function is critical to each individual who has unique demands and aspirations. For each individual, I believe it is important to listen to their unique demands and goals as it relates to upper extremity problems. In doing so, I can help patients achieve their goal of restoration of function and relief of pain.

Very professional and honest about what to expect from the surgery, recovery, and return to previous activities.
Dr. Pater is a superior hand surgeon. His work is “Surgical Artistry”. I have recommended him and his cheerful vigilant staff to many.
Dr. Pater has been caring for my hands as well as family members’ hands and wrists for many, many years. There is a reason we all keep coming back to him, because he simply is fantastic. I guess I would say that we all feel like we are, “in good hands!”
Exceptional, just as others in the industry told me he would be. Expert, professional, friendly, fast and will not over treat or recommend surgery and less absolutely necessary.
Dr Pater is an exceptional doctor. The surgery was quick on a torn tendon in my arm. The healing has gone well so far, being only 10 days after the surgery. His assistants have always been quick and helpful if I have had any questions. It was my first surgery and it has been better than my expectations were before the surgery. Thank you Dr.Pater
Dr. Pater tested and dignosed cubital tunnel syndrome that affected control of my right hand and caused muscle atrophy. With minimal pain meds my recovery from surgery was pretty painless. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Now, t... read more
Dr Pater has always provided first-rate care and always gotten me back to doing my activities that I enjoy
Dr. Pater listens with genuine concern about your issues. He answers everything in layman's terms and has a very good bedside manner. He performed carpal tunnel surgery on both of my hands a couple of years ago, but far enough apart for me to function as well. He explained everything prior to my surgery and I am very happy with his work. I have gone back to him recently and unfortunately have to have additional hand surgery for a totally different issue. I trust him and would recommend him to anyone who needs a great orthope... read more
I was asked to make a decision if i wanted a cortizone shot and I was nervous so I asked how painfull are they and he staed it burns a little for about 6 seconds, then said he could prescribe me valium and have someone pick me up after the injection. Then said you need to make a decision because I have other patients. Extreamly poor bedside maners.
