I saw Dr Pater after a fall for pain in my hand. He listened to what I had to say and then He reviewed the X-ray taken in the emergency room at U C Health and explained that the pain is from arthritis in my thumb joint. He took the time to show me the problem on the X-ray. He proposed a plan of action which I am comfortable with. I found him thoughtful and easy to communicate with.
Went in for intensely worse instability, beyond my "normal" realm of daily pain/issues. Spent more time with the (friendly) PA for initial visit. Expressed concerns regarding recommended cortisone injection, explained my connective tissue/hypermobility issues, then received injection from Dr. Pater after he felt for pain areas. Notes from this visit didn't show what I mentioned. I understand that cortisone is a first response, but I felt my concerns were dismissed. How refreshing…cares about you AND so very competent. Scheduled my hand surgery as soon as he was able, ensured my comfort and safety, and gave me my hand function back. It’s so hard to find a great hand surgeon these days, but he is one.
Dr. Pater is absolutely the best Doctor that I have been to in my 65 years of life. I have had 2 operations from Dr. Pater & all I can say is that he & his staff have made it easy & comfortable. Less pain & stress than I expected. Words cannot express my admiration & respect that I have for Dr. Pater. Not to mention his professional & caring staff. The BEST, the GOAT!
My latest experience with Dr. Pater and his staff involved right hand carpal and thumb surgery. Dr. Pater has performed at least ten surgeries for me over the last twenty years and every case has brought me back to quality life again and again. My profession as an automotive mechanic has taken its toll on my body but since he can fix the parts I wear out I keep going and doing what I love to do. Thank you Dr. Pater!
I am very pleased with Dr. Pater and his staff. Pater has a great bedside manner. Dr. Pater is excellent at hand surgery. This is my second surgery.
