Awful mortgage company! My first year w/ Loan Depot they pay my sewer bill from my escrow account. It took 6 months of phone calls talking to the incompetent tax department to correct their error. One phone call I was told to prove I paid my own sewer bill. Another was pay the money you owe back to your escrow and your payment won't go up! It was put in writing and verbal not to pay sewer bill out of my escrow for following year. And here we are, they did it again. Loan Depot ran a hard credit check on me without my permission. They called several times, and I told them that I already had an equity loan in process with another company. I absolutely do not remember giving them my social security number and never heard the words "run a credit check".
