RecommendedThe food was excellent and so was the service! Three Samurai is becoming a favorite place again, after a few years of not going there due to slow service. The waiter even gave me dessert on my way out the door, as he knew I was celebrating my birthday this week.
The menu offered some unique combinations. Let’s you ease into sushi with familiar flavors. Also good portions at reasonable prices is always a win! Chef was nice too. They are just hidden in the back building in the corner
Love Three Samurai! I've always had great experience here along with great friendly service. I love the specials they offer. I do love their sushi and my favorites are cubby roll, subarachi, spider roll and Narlin roll.
Not nearly as good as the previous ownership. Why would you get rid of the grill tables?
This has been my favorite spot for lunch for 10+ years. After today I will not be coming back. Too many changes with new management. Tempura wasn't crispy at all, there's less veggies in the stirfry and seems like they've changed a lot of the sauces up. Shouldn't have changed a good thing.
Just in Iowa City for two days. I wish I knew about this place our first night. I would of ate there twice! I feel horrible because I forgot to tip the sushi chefs! I promise to make it up to them next time I'm in town!

This is my favorite Sushi place and has been for years! I haven’t been here in over a year because the last 4 or 5 times I’ve been in the wait is extremely long even when it’s super slow! and every time you would call in they would tell you they aren’t taking to go orders. Didn’t make sense. SO HAPPY that Three Sam is under new management! Came back tonight for dinner and didn’t have to wait 2 Hours for sushi! THANK YOU for saving my favorite place! New owners, new menu, many new changes, food quality definitely not that same (in a bad way). No more clear soup, salad dressing changed, beef teriyaki bento box steak was tough and cooked in a watered down sauce and added veggies!
