We have ALWAYS had an excellent and delightful experience dining at The Tavern.
First time and will definately be back. Party of 10 and almost all of us ordered something different and tasted off each others plate. Not a bad dish in the group. Especially loved the fried green tomatoes!!! Priced very resonably and don't even get me started on how adorable this place is!!! Highly highly highly recommend!!

Sat on the back porch for our anniversary dinner and it was lovely. The food and service were impeccable. I would have loved filet mignon but not on the menu.
Wait was not long, plenty of outside seating. Wife's beet salad was great. I had chicken and grits. Grits were cooked perfect. Gravey was flavorful. Crust on chicken was crunchy but still light. One piece of chicken was great. The other was rubbery, confusing. Food was overall very good. $23 for two people.
I was very disappointed with the Tavern! I had made reservations for 7 which I said there were 2 handicapped people! One was my 88 year old Mother that has to use a walker! The other was my niece that is a special needs child that is on oxygen and has to stay in her stroller! The hostess was very rude, said that she didn't know if we could bring the stroller in or not, she would have to get the manager!
