I expected a decent meal but it was exceptional. We normally do dessert but couldn’t resist the bourbon chocolate pecan pie. The food was exceeded only by the quality of the service. Michelle is a gem and made us feel like we were right at home.
12/21/17 My wife and I really enjoyed the food, drinks, and service. Our waitress was really nice and her recommendations on drinks were spot on! The food was very delicious, I had the Bratwurst and Sauerkraut with mashed potatoes and green beans, and my wife had the Moravian Chicken Pie with mashed potatoes and green beans. They were both hot and fresh and delicious. We will definitely be going back again.
I worked here for a while after moving back here from Myrtle Beach, SC. The food is always fantastic & great service too. I highly recommend that everyone who comes through Old Salem should experience the uniqueness of the tavern!
The food and service was exceptional. Thank you to our waitstaff, Dre. Husband and I ordered the filet mignon and it was amazing. My daughter ordered the poulet rouge chicken and she said it might be one of the best chicken she has ever had.
We ate lunch after going to the Candle Tea. Three of us got the Moravian chicken pie and one got the Rueben sandwich. Everything was wonderful. We also ordered the biscuits and pumpkin muffins. Love the muffins. We were too full from our lunch to order dessert. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. Overall we had a great time and look to make this an annual Christmas outing.
