I’m not sure if we went at the wrong time or what but we had heard some amazing story’s about the experience and the atmosphere so we make plans to go! We arrive a bit before our scheduled time and the lady was rude and we didn’t mind waiting but they acted like it was a big deal we had 14 instead of 15 we had originally scheduled ! The food was great and our waitress was very friendly. Felt like being home.
The food is always excellent. But it’s the old world ambience that makes it so special. Everyone dressed in period attire. The staff is so courteous, attentive, and informative. A wonderful dining experience!

I have been going to Old Salem since I was a little girl. I recently visited and dined at The Old Salem Tavern which still offers a range of dishes along with desserts. On this particular day it was a little to warm inside and they didn’t seem very enthusiastic about having late afternoon customers. Service was very slow and they used to serve a basket full of warm muffins etc. while you waited on your meal and they now charge for this basket.
