Very enjoyable evening in a lovely historical setting. Food was delicious. My husband and I ordered the chicken pie and it was chicken breast finely chopped with a flaky pie crust. The mashed potatoes and green beans that were served with it were very good. I usually judge a restaurant by the taste of the sweet tea. The tea at Salem Tavern was perfect sweet tea. The food was absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly. My husband and I were there close to the closing time and our waiter was very nice and did a great job. It was a rather hot day of 94 degrees and he still asked if we cared for dessert. Yes, we stayed for dessert , so worth it!! When we left we realized we were the only customers left. With that being said, no staff complained. We enjoyed our meal without any rush.. We will definitely be back to try more of their delicious food.

It was the best lunch, ever. The food was amazing. The staff exceptional. We brought my elderly mother and she enjoyed every minute. I am very picky since I spent 2 decades in restaurant management. This place is fantastic.
