Not what it used to be... – I too have visited The Tavern and found the show dissapointing. I remember stopping in on a business trip about 4 or 5 years ago and it was amazing. The bartenders seemed to know everyone, and put on the most amazing show. Now, I guess it is just a mall restaurant. Oh well, good things never last. Where did those bartenders go? My burger was still great...
Arrogant bartenders - Plastic Singles – Great sinles hangout for the beautiful 30s & 40s. Lots of plastic surgery. Arrogant bartenders who insult you if you don't give them a big enough tip!!!
go for drinks, not food – Drinks are fine, music is good (the guy looks like Micheal Bolton- weird but good), but the food sucks. The only thing worth getting are the nachos, which are really good. Stay away from their sandwiches, the pasta anyone could make at home.
Meat Market – It has a dark, wealthy feeling. The happy hour is full of Atlanta men. All stockbrokers from nearby, to buy you a drink after shopping.
Get over yourselves – Well, I heard about what a show place it was, and about the great bartenders. Geez. Sophmoric, at best. The bartenders here (like in so many places in Atl) seem to be more interested in juggling olives, flipping glasses, and staring at themselves in any reflection they can, then pouring a good drink. I've forgotten more about cocktails and bar service than these jokers will ever know.
