The Tavern restaurant in downtown Abingdon is a step back in time. Our beautiful old building was built in 1779 and is the oldest of Abingdon's historic structures. In its original inception, it was an overnight inn for stagecoach travelers, housing famous guests such as Henry Clay, King Louis Philippe of France, and President Andrew Jackson. Best dining in Abingdon, bar none. The new outdoor dining, and Sunday brunch are the best. Friendly staff, collective menu, historical atmosphere make this an unparalleled dining experience.

Beautiful setting, not typical of what you would expect at a tavern!

ATMOSPHERE!!! The best martinis ever. The food is wonderful. The wait staff is superb. The scallops are to die for not to mention the filet. Most of all it is thier attention to detail . Don't go anywhere near Abondon without eating at this wonderful, relaxing, back in time, restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
