The Tavern restaurant in downtown Abingdon is a step back in time. Our beautiful old building was built in 1779 and is the oldest of Abingdon's historic structures. In its original inception, it was an overnight inn for stagecoach travelers, housing famous guests such as Henry Clay, King Louis Philippe of France, and President Andrew Jackson. The Tavern is the very best, in an award winning small town food destination!
Had a Great dinner, the food was really good. Our waiter was very good at timing our food so we didn't get dinner while we still had our salads. Never felt rushed. Will go back again.
