Your host, Max Hermann is as charming and authentically German (and a US Air Force veteran) as they come. Don’t miss Abingdon in the spring and fall (ride the VA Creeper trail) and don’t miss The Tavern. This girl from Augsburg Germany left very, very happy! ♥️

Stopped here for dinner with my dad (one of his favorite restaurants) on our way to Knoxville! Unique, historic building with exceptional service & food! Our waiter, Chris was very pleasant, engaging, and attentive. Don’t miss this gem if you are anywhere near Abingdon, VA!
