This popular restaurant looks like something straight out of a western movie. The barn-like exterior and wooden floors add the perfect touch of rusticity. A live band plays out back on Friday and Saturdays. Put on your boots and get ready for some two-stepping. Bring your appetite and sample all the Texas barbecue you can handle. The brisket, chicken and ribs are superb but save a little room for some blackberry or peach cobbler. It just might be the best this side of the Mississippi River.

I work there when I was in high school. I sure miss this restaurant. Who owens it now??
My husband's first job was as a bus boy here. We recently visited Houston and he insisted we drive over. The food was delicious, especially the potato salad and the blackberry cobbler. I mean the BBQ is a given.
The portion size was large. Turkey was moist and full of flavor. Brisket was very tender and was great. Wait staff was on top of everything. Can't wait to go back
The chop rib baked patatoe is sooo delectable!! The service was excellent!! I will come back and again and again and etc!!

I worked at Swinging Door BBQ the year they won the cook off in 79 to 84 and the business started booming. Steve's BBQ has always been the best!
Been coming here for 25 years and still love the BBQ and the nice atmosphere.

First time at a barbecue place in texas. It was pretty good. Service was good. Food came fast and was hot. Definitely coming back.
