This popular restaurant looks like something straight out of a western movie. The barn-like exterior and wooden floors add the perfect touch of rusticity. A live band plays out back on Friday and Saturdays. Put on your boots and get ready for some two-stepping. Bring your appetite and sample all the Texas barbecue you can handle. The brisket, chicken and ribs are superb but save a little room for some blackberry or peach cobbler. It just might be the best this side of the Mississippi River.

Fantastic the best ribs and potato salad you will ever eat!
I have been going to the swinging door since I was a kid and I am now 38 and the food has always been consistently wonderful. Some of the best BBQ you will ever eat in a country cozy environment. Celebrated many a birthday there in our family and hope to have our rehearsal dinner there this winter. It's out go to for over seas guests to try authentic Texas BBQ.
I really enjoyed their BBQ! Ribs ,Chicken plus Brisket! GREAT food and wonderful waiters! Especially! I highly recommend it!
I travel 12 hours once a year to Houston and The Swinging Door is always the first place in mind to go to, really the best BBQ I've ever had, (and I've had a lot of BBQ across the state) a must try for all.
All employees nice and friendly, food the bbq in the area.

It's a family run business that makes their food fresh daily. Low key atmosphere, friendly and delicious. Cobbler and ice cream takes the dessert! Enjoy!
Everything is good except the event coordinators attitude. We wanted to organize an event there, my husband called to event organizer and it was very obvious that she dismissed him due to his accent. I truly believe that it is in the interest of both parties to arrive at an agreement and organize the event, however the person he spoke to refused to cooperate.
The food is great. Can't complain there but this is NO family restaurant. A kids menu that consist of pb&j ? My kids are 6 and 8 and they don't eat potato salad. Baked beans. Mac and cheese the way you make. Etc. I'm sure I'm not the only parent to agree. At least have chips or French fries to go along with the meat choices for kids. I will return as a customer just can't come with kids as there are no menu options for the typical kid these days. Disappointed you can't serve my entire family.
