Except for the crabby and waaaaaay too serious night manager, everything was wonderful. We would definitely recommend The Standard!
Hotel is beautiful, view is great. Room is just average. No plugs near the bed and the bathroom, while brand new, appears dated. Front desk staff is awesome. But the restaurant staff was just ok. Got late night room service, food was average at best. Linens are really nice. You are definitely paying for the name and the lobby... l probably wouldn't go back.
The staff was fine. The room was just OK. Burned out hairdryer and Kleanex thrown in a box in the corner of the closet. The bed was good. One wire chair at a desk and a phallic shaped beanbag chair were all their was to sit on besides the bed. No, having visitors in your room is out. This is apparently a party hotel. Because the screaming and going on in the room next to us was endless.
Old, no amenities, floors creak throughout the hotel, room smelled like pot, was told I had an upgraded room when booked and checked in and told no they were sold out so no upgrade.
Good ambiance, wonderful staff and good location.
The room is nice. The decor is fun. I do prefer the one in downtown though. But the food is pretty bad, and very pricey. I'd rather walk a quarter mile and have better less expensive options.
Good location, pity it's not up to the same quality as the days downtown location which is amazing. The hallways always smelt, the rooms are very tired and the whole place could really do with a major make over.
