I must start this review by saying if it was a review of just the massage I had on its own, it would be 5-star. Ellen was brilliant - professional, friendly and skilled, and I would recommend. As a whole, however, the experience total was mixed, at best. The Spa itself is tired and run down, in sore need of renovation. Damp stains on the ceiling in the changing area, rust on the fixtures and fittings, loose or wobbly covers etc. - it all suggests that the environment has seen better days. I was at this spa a couple of weeks ago. I was gifted a Signature Spa Day for my birthday so was very excited as I was expecting the spa treatment to be amazing given it was at Slaley Hall. I had my treatment booked for 30 minutes of reaching the spa. I opted for the full body scub which came with a back massage. I asked if instead of a back massage, would they be willing to give me a neck/shoulder massage. They said no problem - they would change it to a neck, shoulder/head massage.
