I went with a 76 year old, disabled person, who used to go to the Salvation Army social gatherings for the elderly. Due to his personal circumstances and health issues, he had to stop attending these. We went on a Thursday, where the Army meet from 11am until about 4pm. They were a really friendly group of people who went there. We joined in there singing session and was able to chat with people he new. I would recommend going to this social group. The Salvation Army does good work in the community and I’ve been a supporter over the years. Unfortunately advertising this location as a donation collection point has had a very negative effect. I arrived with half a wardrobe of clothing and footwear; all clean and ready to use. Sadly I was turned away because of Covid. Fair enough - but changing the site details would avoid anyone else wasting their time and getting frustrated.
