We spent two hours and forty five minutes during dinner service. Back of the house seemed to be keeping up, but front of the house was inattentive. My group just qualified for group seating which meant we had auto gratuity applied. On three separate occasions we saw our waiter socializing and sitting down while our drinks were empty. Menu was unique and lots of things I wanted to try. We didn’t consider dessert because we had already been there for two and a half hours. Decor and motif were also excellent.
We dined at The Root Restaurant last night and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food; especially the food. It was our first time at the Root but it won't be the last. My husband has a delicious pasta dish and I enjoyed a steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and there were many unique sides and tastes that made everything we ate one of a kind. I'm not going to comment on our excellent dinner or service by our knowledgable and helpful waiter. I'm giving five stars for the Smoked Old Fashioned that I had and I can't stop thinking about!

Our favorite local restaurant. The service has always been excellent and knowledgeable, the food is full of flavor and the atmosphere is comfortable and upscale. We love this place and hope to enjoy many more years of nights out here as the years go by!
Crushed!! I celebrated my birthday here and all special events or special dinners. Since James left the choices for vegans have all dissolved into nothing. Nothing on the main menu and the “Vegan Tasting Menu” is a very sad shadow of what it used to be.
