Was absolutely great. The fried bologna ? The service ?? Just the same...umbelievable !! Cant wait to come back !!!
First time at the Root and was disappointed. The menu was somewhat restricted and the food was average at best. Not worth the 39 minute drive out there.
I have patroned The Root since it opened - the chef, meal selections, drinks and staff never disappoint! Great locally and regionally sourced ingredients with an abundance of creativity go into every meal!
Great decor and fantastic food. We went for the first time on Sunday for brunch. Outside of the kitchen getting the food out very slowly to us it was an overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend this restaurant .
Tonight I tried their sweet potato soup with Harissa, Curry, and Aleppo pepper. It was quite spicy but not completely overwhelming. I only had a cup, but next time I may have to have a bowl.Very tasty! However, for the main, I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken. It was very underwhelming. While very crispy, it had absolutely NO seasoning whatsoever. I had to pile on the salt, and would have added pepper had it been on the table. This place unfortunately has gone downhill since James Rigatto left. This was our first time back since he left. The food was disappointing. I️ ordered the bolognse and it looked delicious until I️ took a few bites and my mouth was on fire! Even my husband (who likes spicy food), thought it was too spicy! Second try with the crab cakes...ugh! The crab cakes had no flavor and the avocado mousse again was so spicy (surprised it wasn’t mentioned since that’s why I️ sent the first meal back).
