It was our first time on a narrowboat. We spent a wonderful, relaxing week on the canals. The boat was very clean, comfortable and easy to handle. It's a great way to slow down, forget the busy life and visit the nice pubs along the way.
We just came back from a great 4 night journey. The canal is beautiful and relaxing to cruise on. You can stop wherever you like for the night, near a pub, out in nature, or in a town. The boat was very clean and easy to use. It is exactly as described on the website.
Myself and my granddaughter have just spent three lovely days on the purple boat , it was a brilliant experience, Jan and her mum showed us the ropes and led us through the first two locks , we then cruised the canal on our own , great fun , greyboat and lovely people
We just returned from a 8-day trip on the Purple Boat and had a fantastic time exploring the Trent-and-Mersey as well as going up the Soar for a bit. The location in Shardlow gives a lot of choice in terms of cruising directions. The boat is small but well-designed and very comfortable for 2. The 42ft length makes it remarkably nimble compared to 50-60ft boats. The purple color is really something differnt and sparks interested questions here and there.
