Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. Excellent attention to social distancing and cleanliness! Scrumptious fried chicken, barbecue pork, and beef brisket. Topped off a wonderful dinner with a homemade peach fried pie with homemade peach ice cream.....one of the best meals I have eaten in months!!
The food is delicious. Portions are more than enough and the cost is more than reasonable. Take out process is so easy and efficient and the staff is friendly.
I've eaten in and out. The service is great. The food is excellent. The prices are even better. I always get the beef brisket. I would say the best in town.

This was a good BBQ place. excellent meat selections, good local sides, delicious desserts if you have room, and an expansive wine/ beer list. When in Raleigh, it is a must.
