The hippest place in Baltimore to see an alternative rock band is this scruffy, but chic, midtown establishment. The bar itself is very small, so many patrons stand or sit in front of the tiny stage, or wander around the multi-colored second and third floors. The bands are either unsigned locals or independent-label acts. All play loud and fast.

Love this place! Countless memories have been made here and the bartenders are great. Trans inclusive.
great place that does an amazing job of supporting the lgbtqi community I love going there and as a gay man have danced with partners and have never had an issue and have always felt safe. 10 out of 10 Stars I love their Beyonce and Rihanna and Robyn themed dance parties they are the best! I have been going to this venue for about 10 plus years now!
Great venue for music and drinks! Friendliest staff ever, if not THE BEST. Trans friendly ♡
An amazing safe space for all. Love this place and their staff!
If I could give less stars, I would. I used to frequent and love Ottobar, spent tons of money there. Then they began patting down the Tuesday crowd (which was when there were the most people of color) for little or no justifiable reason. FYI: They had a bouncer get stabbed to death on their premises, but never instituted a pat down for punk shows like the one someone was killed at... Interesting. After uproar they rid themselves of their meddlesome Tuesday night twofers and shut downstairs off completely on Tuesday nights as... read more
Loved the layout, good atmosphere and lots of energy!
Saw Curse Mackey, Chemlab & PWEI there and had a great time. Staff was fairly courteous. Reminded me of the old 9:30 club vibe, about the same size, but in better repair
Went to an Emo Nite Brooklyn event (an event I had been to before at another venue and had so much fun!). I had not been to the Ottobar before but was excited because I knew it was a big deal for our local music scene. Event was supposed to start at 8, but we weren’t even allowed in the space until a half hour after that, and it didn’t get underway until about 9:30. I get that sometimes late starts are not the venue’s fault but that was frustrating. I bought the tickets beca... Continue Reading
